According to a league source obtained by The Times-Picayune reporter Josh Katzenstein, the New Orleans Saints are planning to sign former South Carolina LB Jonathan Walton for training camp.
It’s currently unknown what the responding move will be to open up the spot for Walton.
The Saints are currently without rookie linebacker Sae Tautu, who has a sprained MCL in his knee.
Walton went undrafted out of South Carolina last season. As a senior, Walton amassed 68 tackles (6.5 for loss) in 12 games (10 starts).Walton made 22 starts during his 50 games as a Gamecock.
While at Bayside Academy in Daphne, Ala, Walton was regarded as a three-star prospect, the No. 20 player in Alabama and the No. 21 inside linebacker in the nation according to Rivals.
