South Carolina will be short four players in Thursday night’s season opener against Vanderbilt.
With about 30 minutes until kickoff, South Carolina coach Will Muschamp announced suspensions for offensive linemen Alan Knott and Christian Pellage, as well as defensive back Toure Boyd and defensive lineman Abu Lamin.
All four were suspended for an undisclosed violation of team rules.
Lamin’s suspension will span three games, keeping him out until the Gamecocks travel to Kentucky on Sept. 24. Knott, Pellage and Boyd will miss one game.
Knott, an interior offensive lineman, is the backup center and left guard, according to the Gamecocks official depth chart.
Pellage was charged with a DUI this summer. Asked about Pellage multiple times in fall camp, Muschamp said the punishment would be announced at a later date.
