South Carolina safety Toure Boyd has left the team and is seeking a transfer, according to a Thursday morning report from TheBigSpur.com.
The 5-foot-10, 195-pound Boyd has played in three of South Carolina’s four games this season. He has primarily played on special teams with a few snaps coming at safety against Mississippi State. He recorded one tackle this season.
Boyd played in one game before ankle injury ended his 2015 season after transferring from Chaffey Junior College in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.
The Gamecocks are expected to get senior safety Chaz Elder back from a rib injury Saturday against Texas A&M (4 p.m., SEC Network).
