According to John Whittle of TheBigSpur, the South Carolina football team is losing Robbie Liles, who’s been with the program for the last 17 years.
Liles most recently served as the director of football operations.
According to Whittle’s report, Liles has accepted a position that’s outside of football. Liles spent several years in the Gamecocks recruiting offices. He also served as director of high school relations, director of recruiting operations and director of player personnel, his position before shifting into the football operations role.
Whittle also wrote that George Wynn, Florida’s director of football operations, is expected to be Liles’ replacement.
Liles isn’t the first staffer to leave the Gamecocks this offseason. Former linebacker Shaq Wilson, the former assistant director of recruiting (defense), is now on staff at Tennessee as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. Former defensive tackle Byron Jerideau is with Wilson in Knoxville as an assistant on the Vols strength and conditioning staff.
Coach Will Muschamp recently added Marcus Lattimore to South Carolina’s support staff. After serving the last two seasons as a defensive analyst, Muschamp elevated Kyle Krantz to an on-field position position, to fill the 10th assistant spot.
Muschamp, of course, fired offensive coordinator Kurt Roper and named wide receivers Bryan McClendon as his successor.
