South Carolina’s wide receiving corps is set to have a new look in 2016.
Don’t count Shaq Davidson to be a part of it, though.
Davidson, a redshirt sophomore wide receiver, is likely to transfer to another school, according to The Big Spur’s John Whittle.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Gaffney, S.C. native did not play a snap last season for the Gamecocks. That followed a 2014 campaign in which Davidson tore a ligament in his knee during a preseason practice.
Davidson was a four-star prospect and rated as the nation’s No. 36 wide receiver coming out of Gaffney High School.
Davidson is the second South Carolina player to transfer from the program since the arrival of first-year coach Will Muschamp.
His departure leaves the Gamecocks with seven wide receivers on scholarship for spring practices.
