Five-star small forward Zion Williamson will visit South Carolina on Saturday for the Gamecocks first home football game of the season.
That’s according to Phil Kornblut, who recently spoke with Williamson’s stepfather, Lee Anderson.
On Thursday, South Carolina basketball coach Frank Martin conducted an in-home visit with Williamson (6-7, 230) and his family.
“The visit went great, just like all the visits with the coaches so far,” Anderson said. “[Martin’s] message was about the fact they reached the Final Four last season and come help them get to that next level.”
Williamson, a 2018 prospect from Spartanburg (S.C.) Day School, is tentatively set to take official visits to Duke, Kansas, Kentucky and UCLA.
According to the 247Sports composite, he’s ranked as the No. 2 overall prospect in the country. The 247Sports Crystal Ball gives Kansas the slight edge over Kentucky. Duke is third and North Carolina is fourth.
Clemson hosted Williamson for an unofficial visit last weekend when the football team played Auburn. This Saturday’s trip to South Carolina is reportedly an unofficial.
Earlier this month, South Carolina hosted 4-star small forward Aaron Nesmith for an official visit. Nesmith is listed behind Williamson as the No. 2 in-state prospect for the Class of 2018.
