South Carolina a 2.5-point favorite after Steve Spurrier’s resignation
Has the Head Ball Coach’s resignation hurt the South Carolina football team? Vegas seems to think so.
South Carolina has moved to a 2.5-point favorite for Saturday’s home game against Vanderbilt, according to VegasInsider.com.
The Gamecocks opened as an eight-point favorite in the SEC game, but that line has moved since Steve Spurrier officially resigned as coach on Tuesday.
Interim coach Shawn Elliott said South Carolina will “come out swinging” this week against Vandy and has attempted to energize the team by playing music at practice entering this week’s game.
Apparently, Vegas doesn’t buy the newly found intensity as a difference-maker.
South Carolina opened as a 7-point favorite over Vandy. After Spurrier's resignation, SC now 3-pt favorite.
