It has been more than two months since Steve Spurrier resigned from his post at South Carolina, but the Head Ball Coach still has SEC fans wondering about where he’ll end up next.
According to Gamecocks athletic director Ray Tanner, one of his options includes becoming an ambassador for the school’s athletic department, per The State’s Josh Kendall.
“We have talked about it and he said we’d talk about it another time,” Tanner told Kendall. “I’ve offered him an opportunity to have an office here in the Rice building should he want to do that. He’s taking some time now to decide what he wants to do.”
Spurrier had reportedly been linked to the role last month, which wasn’t too long after he made a surprising guest appearance on ESPN’s College GameDay, prompting speculation that Spurrier would take up a position within the sports media industry. For now, though, the former coach is taking his time with the decision — as he has every right to do.
