South Carolina baseball reportedly hosted its first candidate for its head coaching vacancy.
TheBigSpur reported that South Florida coach Mark Kingston was on campus in Columbia on Thursday, interviewing with athletic director Ray Tanner and touring the facilities.
Kingston has been at USF for three season and led the Bulls to a 42-19 mark in 2017. USF reached the NCAA Regionals this season with wins against Florida and Florida State during the regular season.
Kingston has been a head coach for eight seasons, with his first five coming at Illinois State.
Chad Holbrook resigned as South Carolina’s coach on June 6, ending his tenure as the Gamecocks coach after five seasons. The Gamecocks missed the postseason twice in the past three season.
