Cudd won’t have to travel far to arrive on campus, coming from Socastee High School in Myrtle Beach, S.C., where he averaged 12 points and eight rebounds per game as a junior. 247Sports ranked him as the 37th best center in the Class of 2017, nationally, and the fifth-best player at any position in the state of South Carolina.
Cudd had offers from Eastern Carolina, Western Carolina and Tulane, along with reported interest from Clemson and Georgia. His Socastee High School coach told The Sun News that Cudd’s decision was an easy one.
The 7-foot, 250-pound center is South Carolina’s first signee of 2017 class, but others are expected to join him during the early signing period. SEC Country’s Hale McGranahan previews what to expect here.
