South Carolina basketball coach Frank Martin knew was coming, but he didn’t even hesitate to run into the moment.
As has become a bit of a trend of late, especially in this NCAA Tournament, South Carolina players were waiting for Martin to arrive in the locker room with bottles of water to drench their coach.
“That’s the new wave,” Martin said. “Football, they dump an ice bucket on you on the sideline. The new thing in coaching college basketball now is you’ve gotta get a rain coat and put it on before you go in if you win a game in the tournament. Unbelievable moment for us.”

Martin might need to plan ahead in the future and could take some notes from Michigan coach John Beilein. Beilein came prepared Sunday afternoon after Michigan upset Louisville, as he came into the locker room with a squirt gun.
South Carolina upset Duke on Sunday night at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, S.C., advancing to the Sweet 16 for the first time in 44 years and winning two games in an NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.
