South Carolina burns giant Clemson mascot at “Tiger Burn”
The Gamecocks football team went to Tiger Burn to put their loss to The Citadel behind them.
As they look ahead to their annual showdown with Clemson on Saturday, they used the Tiger Burn as inspiration for their latest motivational tactic.
South Carolina burnt a giant facsimile of the Clemson mascot at the 64th annual Tiger Burn on Monday night. The celebration dates back to the early 20th century.
Despite a 3-8 season, South Carolina is not straying away from tradition. After the first Tiger Burn, the Gamecocks beat a highly-favored Clemson team, 12-6.
After continuing the Tiger Burn again this week in front of a massive crowd in Columbia, S.C., the Gamecocks hope to spark some magic as they attempt to end their season on a high note.
