South Carolina’s 19-10 victory over Vanderbilt marked a number of firsts for the Gamecocks.
First, it marked the team’s first win in about a decade without Steve Spurrier patrolling the sidelines.
Instead, the victory belonged to interim coach Shawn Elliott.
The win also marked the Gamecocks’ first in SEC play. Last week, the team fell to 0-4 in conference play; the first time a Spurrier-coached team ever opened the season with four consecutive SEC losses.
It also marked Perry Orth’s first win as South Carolina’s starting quarterback.
As seen, the Gamecocks celebrated accordingly.
