Don’t bring weak Twitter hate into South Carolina men’s basketball coach Frank Martin’s timeline.
He’ll zing you right back and make you look like a fool.
South Carolina enjoyed a big win against Florida in a matchup of two Top 25 SEC basketball teams on Wednesday night. But it wasn’t until Thursday morning that Martin got around to roughing up his haters.
Here’s how it went down:
South Carolina’s Twitter account posted a video from the broadcast of the game that featured how well both the Gamecocks men’s and women’s basketball programs have performed this season late Wednesday night. By early Thursday morning, an upset Gators fan decided to fire off a Tweet at the coaches saying “Nobody cares.”
Martin is a pretty intense guy most of the time, so just image the displeasure he must have felt in the moments after that tweet his timeline. It didn’t take him long to craft a witty response, playing off the fact that the guy who sent the message only has three followers on his Twitter account.
OUCH! Coach Martin let him have it. And when some South Carolina fans questioned whether it was worth his time to address a guy like that on Twitter, Martin took the time to make sure they understood why he wouldn’t put up with such actions:
At 15-3 on the season and a spot back in the Top 25 secured, things are certainly looking up for a Gamecocks team in search of a NCAA tournament berth.
