“We’re going to see Missouri Saturday night over in Columbia, Missouri. Our first SEC game, our first official road game not a neutral site. We’ve got our work cut out for us. Offensively, very explosive. 72 points last week. 815 yards. Drew Lock can make all the throws, the short ones, the intermediate, the long throws. Great arm talent, he does have escapability. He scrambles to throw. Extremely talented at the skill positions. Crockett Widner, both backs fit what they do extremely well. [Dimetrios] Mason, [J’Mon] Moore and [Johnathon] Johnson are three receivers that are as good as in our league. They’re guys that can do a lot with it after the catch. Vertical threats down the field. Catch the deep ball and of course Drew throws the deep ball extremely well.
Three big athletic tight ends. The lightest guy on the offensive line is 315, so they’re massive up front. They do a nice job in the run game and also protecting. The ball’s out quick, he gets rid of the football so fast. Work cut out for us.
On the defensive side of the ball, defensively, Barry [Odom] is the head football coach, an outstanding coach and a defensive coach and he’s running their defense. They have a very inexperienced defense, only have six starters back. Terry Beckner’s as talented an inside player as there is in the country. Thirteen, [Rashad] Brandon, really flashed to me in the first ballgame. A guy who got a lot of veridical penetration. And Jordan Herald’s a guy that’s good pass rush wise. They continue to bring on a very young team on the defensive side. Their specialists are good and their returners are outstanding. So we’ve got our work cut out for us going on the road.”
