Will Muschamp has made his thoughts known on the SEC vs. ACC debate.
Speaking on The Paul Finebaum Show on Tuesday, the South Carolina coach was asked about recent talk from ACC coaches and how at least one from that league considers the ACC to be the country’s premier conference.
Muschamp shied from naming the nation’s toughest conference. But he did defend the SEC by citing the conference’s recent success in the NFL draft and referencing the league’s track record throughout the past 15 years.
“I do know for the last, I think, 11 or 12 years, the SEC has had the most draft picks in the National Football League,” Muschamp said on the show. “So as far as players are concerned, there’s certainly a lot of talent in our league. Who’s the best league, I have no idea. But I know our league is very difficult. And I think it speaks for itself over the past 10, 15 years, what the SEC has accomplished.”
That’s a solid answer from Muschamp. Likely, coaches don’t spend much time considering which conference is college football’s best.
It’s fun for fans and reporters to take part in what has become a spirited debate. Still, it’s more important for Muschamp and other coaches to take care of what’s on their respective schedules.
Still, Muschamp is correct to point out the SEC’s NFL draft gains and the conference’s prolonged success. You can bet the SEC vs. ACC debate will continue throughout the coming months.

I asked @CoachWMuschamp if he'll use Bovada's o/u win total of 5.5 as motivation.
