The push to overhaul South Carolina’s wide receiver corps began with five additions to the 2016 signing class.
Coach Will Muschamp has made the position a priority once again for 2017. With three-star Shawn Smith (Brunswick, Ga.) already on board, the Gamecocks are already off to a solid start with the upcoming haul.
Three-star Justin Marshall (Conyers, Ga.) tweeted on Tuesday that he’ll return to South Carolina on Saturday. The 6-foot-3, 193-pound wide receiver plans to participate in on-field workouts during Muschamp’s first camp in Columbia.
By the time Saturday rolls around, it will be just over a month since his first trip to South Carolina.
“I loved everything,” Marshall said about the visit.
Five days after that trip to South Carolina, Marshall released a top 10 list that also included Tennessee, Auburn, Mississippi State and North Carolina.
Marshall believes he would be a “great” fit in the Gamecocks’ offense.
“I feel as if I (can) start early,” he said.
Tennessee, Louisville and North Carolina were also mentioned as potential summer destinations.
South Carolina was one of four schools to make the cut for Louis Dorsey, a 6-foot-6 wide receiver from Jacksonville, Fla.

“I like the head coach and the offense is a fit for a big receiver like (me), and the education is good,” Dorsey said, when asked about South Carolina.
Though he hasn’t visited yet, Dorsey plans to travel to Columbia at some point later this summer. He’s also planning to make stops at UCF and LSU.
Dorsey doubles as a basketball prospect. On the hardwood, his primary options are FIU and Illinois State.
After spending most of the last month on the road for the spring evaluation period, the South Carolina coaching staff kicked June off by handing out offers to three 2017 prospects.
The Gamecocks were offer No. 31 for Kary Vincent Jr., a four-star cornerback from Port Arthur, Texas. Defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson dropped the offer to Vincent, who’s in the midst of scheduling a trip to South Carolina.
Robinson also offered safety Troy Young (Mobile, Ala.). Mississippi State, UCF, Arizona and NC State recently offered the 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect, who’s unranked by the 247sports composite.
“(Robinson) said that he just got back from off the road and he had been watching my film and he wanted to offer me,” Young said.
No date has been set for a visit to South Carolina, but Young plans to be on campus before too long. He’s also looking to visit Arizona, UCLA, Auburn, Alabama, NC State, Mississippi State and Southern Miss.
Tight ends coach Pat Washington offered three-star wide receiver Jeremy Singleton (New Orleans). The No. 124 ranked wide receiver in the country is planning to visit South Carolina in July.
“If not July, an official,” he said.
Washington told Singleton “about how I can be a difference maker at South Carolina,” Singleton said. Houston, Vanderbilt and Minnesota are also tentatively scheduled to receive visits this summer.
Damoray Devoe, a 2018 cornerback from Allendale-Fairfax, S.C., will camp at South Carolina on June 9. He’s also scheduled to camp at Clemson, NC State, Tennessee, The Citadel and Florida.
Devoe will participate in the satellite camp at Ridgeview High School (Columbia, S.C.).
