Four-star cornerback Jamyest Williams, the top-rated commitment in South Carolina’s 2017 signing class, has been visited by two South Carolina coaches.
Last Thursday, the first day of the contact period, defensive coordinator coach Travaris Robinson stopped through the Atlanta area to see the state’s No. 6-ranked 2017 prospect and the nation’s No. 56 overall player. Apparently, that’s par for course. Robinson has met with Williams on the first day of every contact period.
That’s according to Williams’ father, J.J., who confirmed the news with SEC Country on Monday night.
Robinson returned earlier that day at lunchtime. This time, he was joined by coach Will Muschamp.
Williams, a senior at Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga., is set to take an official visit this weekend to Athens.
South Carolina will get the last shot, on the final weekend before signing day.
The Gamecocks added Williams’ commitment in August. At the time, it was made clear that he would take official visits to other schools.
Oklahoma hosted him for an official visit in December, but the decision is expected to come down to the Gamecocks and Bulldogs.
