South Carolina and Colonial Life Arena will be a site in the 2019 NCAA Tournament, the NCAA announced Tuesday.
Colonial Life Arena will host the first and second round games on March 22 and 24, 2019, as the city of Columbia will host the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1970
Columbia is one of eight sites for the first round, joined by Hartford, Conn.; Columbus, Ohio; Des Moines, Iowa; Tulsa, Okla.; Jacksonville, Fla.; Salt Lake City, Utah, and Seattle, Wash.
The regional rounds will take place in New York City; Washington, D.C.; Anaheim, Calif., and Louisville, Ky.
South Carolina made the program’s first Final Four this season. Should the Gamecocks play in the 2019 NCAA Tournament, they would not be able to play at home at Colonial Life Arena.
