COLUMBIA, S.C. — On the South Carolina football team’s second play from scrimmage against Vanderbilt, sophomore wide receiver Bryan Edwards was on the receiving end of a big hit.
Edwards was back on the field by the second play of the Gamecocks’ ensuing drive.
Vanderbilt safety Zaire Jones, who delivered the hit, was ejected for targeting. Edwards immediately entered the Gamecocks injury tent, where he remained for the duration of the opening drive, which Jake Bentley capped with a 19-yard touchdown run.
