COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina football coach Will Muschamp met with reporters on Saturday afternoon, to recap the Gamecocks second scrimmage.

Check out SEC Country’s video below:

Redshirt freshman kicker Parker White hit a game-winning field goal as time expired during Saturday’s stadium scrimmage. (start)

Muschamp said last week’s scrimmage was cleaner, from an operational standpoint. The Gamecocks still have a lot of work to do on themselves before flipping the page to their first opponent in 2017. (:08)

There’s a battle for the starting running back job at South Carolina. Rico Dowdle, Ty’Son Williams and A.J. Turner have all had their moments. “I know we can win with all three,” Muschamp said. (:42)

Earlier this spring, White sort came “out of the woodwork” in the competition for the place-kicking job. Muschamp said they’re “definitely in a competition” between White and fellow redshirt freshman Alex Woznick. (:55)

Even though freshman cornerback Tavyn Jackson will miss the next few weeks of practice, numbers will dictate that he suits up and plays in the Gamecocks secondary this season. (1:39)
