South Carolina football: Thursday morning practice report
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina football team returned to the practice field on a chilly Thursday morning for another fully-padded spring workout.
Reporters were permitted to watch the first three periods.
On the offensive side of the ball, the Gamecocks were without star wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who continues to be limited by injury. He was not with the first-team offense during the tempo period, during which the group moves down field as quickly as possible without facing a defense.
Samuel (leg) was spotted among the non-active players who were on the side without pads, doing non-football activities.
During the tempo period, the first-team offense was in its two tight end set, which included: Jake Bentley, A.J. Turner, OrTre Smith Bryan Edwards, K.C. Crosby and Jacob August. It also appeared that the original starting offensive line group was still intact: Dennis Daley, Zack Bailey, Donell Stanley, Sadarius Hutcherson and Blake Camper.
Edwards (shoulder) was wearing a yellow jersey.
Safety Jaylin Dickerson, who also remains in a yellow jersey, was spotted on the field for individual position work, though he wasn’t wearing pads. A shoulder injury has limited him throughout the spring, and his first year at South Carolina.
