Another lineman on board

Class of 2018 tackle Jesus Gibbs was the first of four prospects to commit to the Gamecocks over the weekend.

The 3-star lineman from Dumfries, Va., picked South Carolina over offers from Boston College, Kansas, N.C. State, Syracuse, Virginia and Wake Forest.

Wide receiver pulls trigger

Three-star WR Tyquan Johnson became the second receiver in the Class of 2018 when he committed to South Carolina on Saturday.

The Screven County High School (Sylvania, Ga.) standout also had offers from Kansas State, Kentucky, Mississippi State, West Virginia and more.

JUCO receiver goes #SpursUp

Junior college WR Ronnie Jamison became South Carolina’s fourth pledge of the weekend, committing to the Gamecocks on Sunday after receiving his offer on Saturday.

Jamison graduated from nearby Irmo (S.C.) High School in 2016.

First 2019 pledge

South Carolina got its first 2019 commit on Saturday when LB Ahdarrious Gee committed to the Gamecocks.

The Cordele, Ga., native grew up a fan of the Gamecocks. “I’m a Gamecock now,” Gee told SEC Country’s Hale McGranahan when asked if he would entertain other offers.

Commitment coming soon?

A week after visiting Georgia, 4-star WR Josh Vann visited South Carolina last weekend for the Spurs Up recruiting event.

The Tucker, Ga., native told SEC Country that a commitment would most likely be his next move.

The grand finale

According to coach Will Muschamp, the Gamecocks hosted more than 600 high school players over the weekend.

Pro Football Hall of Fame QB Dan Marino visited the Spurs Up recruiting event on Friday.

Former South Carolina OF Jackie Bradley Jr. (2009-11) made another spectacular grab for the Boston Red Sox on Friday night.

Quite the debut

Former South Carolina goalkeeper Brad Guzan (2003-04) shut out Orlando City 1-0 in his Major League Soccer debut for Atlanta United on Friday night.
