Call it a recruiting hat trick.
C.J. Freeman, a 3-star running back from Northern Guilford (Greensboro, N.C.), reaffirmed his commitment to South Carolina on Tuesday. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound back will also enroll early this January, according to The State’s Matt Connolly.
The announcement added to what was already an impressive and productive day on the recruiting front for the Gamecocks, as new coach Will Muschamp also picked up his first two commitments in 4-star receiver Bryan Edwards and 3-star defensive end Sadarius Hutcherson.
Though Freeman had technically pledged to South Carolina in March, that decision came before former coach Steve Spurrier resigned and Muschamp was hired, making this the third piece of good news to reach Columbia, S.C., today.
Freeman, the No. 27 prospect in North Carolina, had narrowed his decision down to South Carolina and Wisconsin.
