South Carolina set to host 2018 OT Jerome Carvin for spring game
Three-star Jerome Carvin, the No. 31-ranked offensive tackle in the Class of 2018, is scheduled to visit South Carolina for the spring game on April 1.
South Carolina is one of several SEC schools to have already offered Carvin, who’s from Cordova (Tenn.) High School.
“They really show love to me,” Carvin told SEC Country reporter Chris Kirschner. “I’ve got to see how the facilities (are). I want to see everything when I get down there. I want to see the experience, academic-wise and all that. I want to see that when I get down there.”
Carvin (6-4, 325) is listed on the 247Sports composite as the No. 14 overall prospect from the state of Tennessee in the 2018 cycle. He’s one of several from the state receiving heavy interest from the Gamecocks.
“Really, they keep in contact with me, they check up on me every single day,” Carvin said. “They’re really just amped. I’m a top priority. That’s what they say to me.”
He added, “It’s great. They’re in the SEC. It’s just great.”
For now, Carvin is considering all schools on his offer sheet, which includes Alabama, Auburn, Louisville, Ole Miss and Tennessee.
The plan is to trim his list to five this summer, before announcing a decision at some point before his senior season.
Carvin said Alabama and Tennessee definitely will be included in the top 5.
