Tre Jackson was one of the first South Carolina commits to announce his allegiance toward Will Muschamp.
One month later, that allegiance has come to an end.
The three-star Louisiana cornerback announced his de-commitment from South Carolina via Twitter on Monday.
“Would like to humbly announce I will not be attending South Carolina,” Jackson said.
Jackson previously detailed to SEC Country his support of Muschamp, who was the first college coach to show interest in him dating back to the coach’s time at Florida.
Jackson, an athlete from University Lab High School (Baton Rouge, La.), has received elevated interest from the new coaching staff at Tulane of late and is coming off an official visit to the campus two weekends ago.
The 5-foot-10, 160-pound athlete took an official visit to Kansas State this past weekend.
Jackson is being looked at as both a defensive back and a wide receiver after playing quarterback his senior year of high school.
Jackson is rated as Louisiana’s No. 39 prospect, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
