South Carolina coach Frank Martin thought this postseason run would help bring more attention to his talented staff.
On Wednesday, CBS’ Gary Parrish reported that associate coach Matt Figger is “in advanced talks” to become the new basketball coach at Austin Peay.

Figger has been at South Carolina for five years, spending the past four as the basketball team’s associate head coach. He worked on Frank Martin’s staff for 10 years total, with the first five years coming at Kansas State.
The Gamecocks play in the Final Four against Gonzaga at 6:09 p.m. ET Saturday in Glendale, Ariz.
