It’s Game 5 of a five-game homestand for South Carolina, which can finish it with a 3-2 mark, a three-game winning streak and a record better than .500 with a victory Saturday.
It will take a win against Missouri, which comes to town struggling to face a South Carolina team that has gotten a taste of what it can accomplish after upsetting Tennessee last week.
Still, with that big win in hand, the Gamecocks need to keep focused on Saturday and a new-look Missouri defense that will try to slow the recently found offensive momentum. Freshman running back Rico Dowdle is a big part of that boost, as he has seen his playing time increase of late.
This weekend could see a record set for the Gamecocks, as kicker Elliott Fry is nearing the school mark for scoring.
