South Carolina continues to stockpile in-state talent.
The latest is another wide receiver.
Chavis Dawkins committed to the Gamecocks Saturday afternoon, he announced via Twitter.
“I’m extremely blessed to announce my commitment for the next (four) years to the University of South Carolina,” he said.
Dawkins selected South Carolina over N.C. State. He was recruited by first-year running backs coach Bobby Bentley.
The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Dawkins is the Gamecocks’ third wide receiver commit. He joins the company of early enrollee Bryan Edwards and Diondre Champaigne, both of whom hail from the Palmetto State.
Dawkins is rated as the state of South Carolina’s No. 17 player and the No. 138 wide receiver in the nation, per 247Sports’ composite rankings.
