South Carolina will be without one of its most important players heading into its biggest game of the year so far, as PJ Dozier is sidelined with an injury.
Dozier, a sophomore guard, is out for Saturday’s game at No. 5 Kentucky because of back spasms, the school announced.

Dozier is averaging 14.6 points this season, making him the second leading scorer for the team behind senior guard Sindarius Thornwell.
The No. 24 Gamecocks (15-3, 5-0) are battling Kentucky (16-3, 5-0) for first place in the SEC at 6 p.m. Saturday.
In Dozier’s absence, freshman point guard Rakym Felder and sophomore Hassani Gravett likely will be relied on more to step in.
