Four-star athlete Jammie Robinson has become a regular guest at South Carolina.
The No. 31-ranked athlete in the Class of 2019, according to the 247Sports composite, was back on campus again on Saturday. After visiting several times in 2017, it was the second time this year he’s made the trip from Cordele, Ga.
“Whenever I go up there, it always feels like home. South Carolina is my top school right now. I go up there and I enjoy it every time I go up there,” Robinson said.
Saturday was no different. This visit, once again, was “great.”
“I was up there for a little bit, watched the spring practice, talked to Muschamp a little bit and all the coaches, [defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson] and [outside linebackers/defensive ends coach] Mike Peterson,” Robinson said.
It presented him with his first opportunity to see the Gamecocks practice.
“I liked how the coaches coach them. I like how T-Rob is hard on all the players, making sure they’re doing all the right things and that’s how I liked to be coached,” Robinson said. “I like to be coached hard. That stood out to me.”
Afterwards, the Robinsons spent more time with each other.
“He put me on the board and was showing me what opportunities I would have if I came there and I could play early, stuff like that,” Jammie said.
Alabama, Georgia, Michigan and Oklahoma are among the schools that have offered. Notre Dame was the most recent addition to his offer list, which has grown to 25.
Robinson plans to graduate from Crisp County High School in December, so a decision will be reached at some point in 2018, but there’s no definitive timeline beyond that.
“I want to let the process play out,” he said. “I want to take all my [official] visits and do all that, to make sure I’m positive, wherever I decide to go.”
So far this year, Robinson (5-foot-11, 180 pounds) has only visited Kentucky and South Carolina, but he wants to see Georgia and Oklahoma in the not too distant future. He also plans to take an official visit to Michigan.
Arrangements for an official visit to South Carolina have been made for the weekend of June 3.
