South Carolina offensive line commitments Dennis Daley and Eric Douglas need to do a little bit of research on newly hired offensive line coach Eric Wolford.
“I don’t know him, but I’ve heard of him,” Douglas told SEC Country on Sunday afternoon, shortly after word broke that Wolford would be hired to replace Shawn Elliott.
On Monday afternoon, South Carolina officials made Wolford’s hiring official.
“I’ll be ready to work for whoever,” Douglas said.
Douglas, 3-star offensive tackle from Charlotte, N.C., is set to return to campus this weekend, so he’ll have plenty of time getting to know his future position coach.

Daley, who’s wrapping up things at Georgia Military College, committed to play for Elliott when he was a senior at Ridge View High School in Columbia, S.C. The 3-star junior college prospect was scheduled to take an official visit to Georgia State this weekend.
However, those plans have changed.
“(Georgia State) coaches cancelled my visit,” Daley said.
South Carolina’s third offensive line commitment, 3-star Summie Carlay, was among the mid-year enrollees scheduled to begin class on Monday.
With Wolford now in place, the Gamecocks are able to ramp up the push a fourth commitment to the 2017 offensive line haul.
Four-star Tony Gray (Loganville, Ga.) would appear to be the top-rated prospect left on the board. The No. 27-ranked offensive tackle in the country is scheduled to be on campus this weekend for an official visit.
Florida, the perceived front-runner, will host him for an official visit next weekend. His recently released top 5 also included Auburn, Ole Miss and Florida State.
Three-star Jordan Rhodes (Fairburn, Ga.) is also scheduled to take an official visit to South Carolina this weekend. Mississippi State, Missouri and Cincinnati are also in the mix.
Three-star Jordon Carty, who picked up a South Carolina offer over the summer, is scheduled to visit at the end of the month. The 6-foot-7, 265-pound prospect from Hollywood, Fla., has also listed Ole Miss as an official visit destination.
