COLUMBIA, S.C. — Now that the NCAA has its new recruiting model in place, the South Carolina football staff is ready to roll with its 10 camp dates for the summer.
Most of the dates they’ll use to evaluate potential recruiting targets are set for June.

Will Muschamp and the Gamecock coaches have set the series of 1-day camps on June 3, June 7-10, June 14-17 and July 21. Several of the dates will include position-specific sessions.
- Specialists: June 3
- OL/DL: June 9, 10
- Elite QB: June 16
In addition to the offensive line and defensive line sessions, South Carolina will host 7-on-7 high school tournaments on June 9, 10. Last year’s competitions featured teams from several states, including South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
According to the NCAA’s model, which was approved last Friday, on campus camps, “allow(s) coaches employed at a camp or clinic to have recruiting conversations with prospects participating in camps and clinics and requires educational sessions at all camps and clinics detailing initial eligibility standards, gambling rules, agent rules and drug regulations.”
Muschamp has previously spoken about the importance of hosting on-campus camps, to help evaluate potential recruits. One example is 3-star offensive tackle Jordon Carty, who was offered by South Carolina after his camp performance last June.
