COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina football team will hold a trio of open practices next week.
The Gamecocks will practice on Monday and Wednesday in Williams-Brice Stadium. Tuesday’s practice will be at the new practice fields, located next to the Jerri and Steve Spurrier Indoor Practice Facility. All three practices will begin at 6:50 p.m., following a 20-minute walk-thru.
For the two practices at Williams-Brice Stadium, fans can park for free in Quad 1 of Gamecock Park, which is next to the light by the old Bojangles’. Fans are asked to sit in sections 1-9 on the lower west side of the stadium. The parking lot will open at 4:30 and Gate 20 at the stadium will open at 6. Bags will be checked at the gate. One concession stand will be open on the west main concourse.
For Tuesday’s session, fans can enter the parking area off National Guard Road at 5 p.m. and park in the asphalt and premium south areas. Fans will enter the practice fields through the gate at the northwest corner, which is opposite the indoor facility. Fans are also asked to stay behind the yellow rope at the north end of the fields. There is limited space available to watch Tuesday’s practice and no concessions will be sold.
Those attending the practice sessions will be allowed to photograph through the third period. No cameras will be allowed once the period has passed. Players will not be available for autographs before, during or after the practice sessions. Pets are not permitted on the practice fields.
Should inclement weather arise and the team is forced to move to the indoor facility, the practice will be closed.
