For the second straight week, South Carolina quarterback Connor Mitch was forced to leave the game due to an injury.
Mitch suffered a sprained right shoulder when trying to recover a fumble in the second quarter of Saturday night’s game against Kentucky, according to GamecockCentral.com’s Scott Hood. The first-year starter ran to the sideline pointing at his shoulder and received attention from trainers before heading to the locker room. He was replaced by junior Perry Orth on the next possession.
Mitch left last week’s win against North Carolina in the fourth quarter after taking a sack that resulted in a hip pointer injury.
Official word from USC is Mitch is out for the game with a sprained shoulder.
