Just days after 5-star defensive end Xavier Thomas arrived at IMG Academy, 4-star defensive end Stephon Wynn Jr. announced his plans to transfer out of the state of South Carolina.
Wynn, who’s from T.L. Hanna High School in Anderson, S.C., joins Thomas as the second 2018 prospect from South Carolina to leave the state for IMG, which is located in Bradenton, Fla.

On New Year’s Eve, Wynn unveiled a top 8 that included several SEC schools: Auburn, Georgia, LSU, South Carolina and Tennessee. Clemson, North Carolina and Virginia Tech also made the cut.
South Carolina has hosted Wynn for several visits, including the first and final home games in 2016.
The son of a former Clemson tight end, Wynn has been of the top priorities for South Carolina coach Will Muschamp.
“He’s just telling me they’re still in a rebuilding mode and they’re going to get their guys in and pretty soon things are going to turn around for their program,” Wynn said. “They’re getting bowl eligible this year and not with all of their prospects yet, so don’t lose out on them yet.
“Just keep them in mind, because once they get their guys in, they’re going to turn everything around.”
According to the 247Sports composite, Wynn is the fifth-ranked strong-side defensive end in the class of 2018.
