South Carolina freshman defensive end Boosie Whitlow certainly should be a candidate for Best Name in College Football, if only because of his name’s similarity to noted rapper Lil’ Boosie.
During the school’s media availability on Tuesday, Gamecocks quarterback Lorenzo Nunez was asked a hard-hitting question: What is the likelihood that 70-year-old coach Steve Spurrier recognizes the rapper? Nunez said there was “zero chance,” according to FOX 57 sports anchor Derek Phillips.
But Spurrier proved his quarterback wrong: It turns out the Head Ball Coach’s urban knowledge is greater than we all thought.
Steve Spurrier asked about Lil' Boosie. "The rapper? … I heard them talking about it other day. I don’t keep up with a lot of rappers."
