The La Jolla, Calif., native elected to stay west and has committed to Arizona. Burmeister announced his decision on Periscope on Friday morning.

Burmeister is rated as the No. 9 dual-threat quarterback nationally in the Class of 2017 and is rated as the No. 30 player in the state. He chose Arizona over South Carolina, California, Utah, Indiana, Florida and Washington.
The Gamecocks lost out on Burmeister, but they may have their quarterback of the future in Class of 2016 commit Jake Bentley, who committed to South Carolina earlier in the spring. Bentley will skip his senior year and will enroll at South Carolina this year.
