South Carolina will reportedly be getting an official visit from former North Carolina CB Mike Hughes.
SportsTalk’s Phil Kornblut reports Hughes will be on campus in Columbia this coming weekend. Hughes has also taken official visits to East Carolina and TCU. He has offers from both of those programs, as well as Auburn, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa State and Maryland.
Hughes played in 10 games as a true freshman at UNC in 2015. He recorded 11 tackles and 3 passes defended. The former Tar Heel transferred from Chapel Hill to Garden City C.C. (Kan.) in February 2016 for personal reasons. He has three years two play out his final two seasons of eligibility.
The 3-star corner is the No. 28 JUCO player in the country. He had an offer from South Carolina coming out of high school, as well offers from Auburn, Florida, N.C. State, Clemson and Tennessee, among others.
