The celebration for South Carolina capturing the school’s first women’s national title has been pushed back from its original time due to possible inclement weather. The school announced that the event is now slated for Monday at 8 p.m. from Colonial Life Arena.
Doors will open for the event at 7 p.m.
The celebration, which will last between 35-40 minutes, will have general admission seating.
Students will get the opportunity to enjoy the proceedings. Classes after 3:10 p.m. have reportedly been canceled, according to The State of Columbia, S.C.
South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley, Gamecocks players, USC President Harris Pastides and Athletics Director Ray Tanner will all address the crowd.
South Carolina defeated Mississippi State 67-55 on Sunday night to win the championship. Junior A’ja Wilson earned the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
The celebration was originally scheduled for 4 p.m.
