BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For Griffin Gentry, the opportunity to play ball in the SEC was too good to pass up, so he jumped all over an offer to play for South Carolina.
The two-star defensive end from Homewood High School committed last fall when offensive line coach Shawn Elliott was running the program as the interim head coach. When Will Muschamp was hired as the full-time head coach a couple of months later, the commitment to the Gamecocks was honored.
On Thursday, a few weeks before he graduates from high school and reports to Columbia, S.C., Gentry spoke about his future with the Gamecocks. Check out the video above to hear what he’s got to say.
