COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina football coach Will Muschamp met with reporters after the Gamecocks’ 31-10 win over Wofford on Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Opening statement

“A very workman-like effort. I thought our guys approached this game the right way. We had a couple of drops early in the game. Disappointed, I thought it put us behind the chains a little. … But it’s all a numbers game against an offense like that. You’ve got to get numbers right, regardless of how fast you are, how big you are, it’s about numbers. They did a good job of out-numbering on the first drive of the first half and the first drive in the second half. Our guys made some adjustments.

“Turnovers are key when you play these type of teams and you’ve got to score. We were able to score in those situation. We ran the ball better in the second half. Very balanced in what we were. Jake [Bentley] was on target. We had too many drops and that was disappointing.”

  • Linebacker/safety Antoine Wilder (elbow) and wide receiver Shi Smith (ankle) exited the Wofford game with injuries.
  • “But other than that, we ought to be good to go for next week.”
