The South Carolina Gamecocks just keep on rolling. For the first time in school history, they’ll head to next week’s Final Four, where they will play fellow first-timer Gonzaga.
That’s looking ahead, however. Today is all about South Carolina’s win over fellow SEC program Florida. From Sindarius Thornwell to the Gamecock walk-ons, there are several people responsible for getting the Gamecocks to where they are right now. But of all those individuals, nobody deserves more credit than head coach Frank Martin.
Famous for his tough, demanding sideline presence, Martin has also long been known as one of the best, most genuine people in the industry. When interviewed by CBS’ Allie LaForce after the game, Martin showed why he’s earned that reputation, heaping praise on his players and his family:
