COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina sophomore quarterback Jake Bentley met with reporters on Tuesday at Williams-Brice Stadium.
Bentley, who completed 12 of 17 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown after South Carolina’s deficit to Louisiana Tech increased to 13 points said the Gamecocks had to “do whatever it takes to win.”
“Throw all the stats, the score away,” Bentley said of the 17-16 comeback victory. “We’ve got to take it play by play and just go win. The guys did that. They just kind of erased everything that happened in the game and just focused on right now.
“This drive, we’ve got to score and go execute and just go win the game. I think the guys stayed locked in through the whole game, through adversity and pulled it out.”
After four games this season, Bentley has completed 64 percent of his passes for 1,001 yards, with 7 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.
