In a game that could be crucial for the bowl chances for each program, South Carolina’s Rico Dowdle may have made one of the league’s top plays of the day in the first half Saturday against Missouri.
Gamecocks freshman QB Jake Bentley threw the ball Dowdle’s way hoping for a touchdown, and he got one — just not the conventional way. Mizzou LB Eric Beisel appears to have the play broken up by knocking the ball away as it approached the end zone. But to assume that play was over would be to underestimate Dowdle’s concentration.
Dowdle tracked the ball off Beisel’s shoulder and hauled it in on the rebound for a South Carolina touchdown. Have a look:

The touchdown gave South Carolina a 14-7 lead, helping the Gamecocks on their way to a 21-14 halftime advantage.
