HOOVER, Ala. — Will Muschamp is known to take out his frustrations on a clipboard.
That’s what Auburn defensive tackle Montravius Adams told reporters earlier this week at SEC Media Days.
“We weren’t executing on defense like we should have,” Adams said.
When asked to confirm Thursday that he once broke a finger during a halftime outburst, Muschamp cracked a wry smile.
“It’s just a finger,” he said, during his podium appearance at SEC Media Days. “I get frustrated sometimes … as much as anything, I get mad at myself for not doing a better job of preparing our players. I get a little frustrated with young men who don’t execute exactly the way we want to.
“I wear my emotions on my sleeves, sometimes, a little bit more than I should.”
Muschamp then delivered the punchline.
“I don’t remember the situation,” he said. “I black out sometimes.”
