Five-star basketball prospect Zion Williamson put on yet another dunking exhibition over the weekend. After a charity game at his high school on Sunday, he was asked about South Carolina.
“It’s amazing,” Williamson said of the Gamecocks run to the Final Four. “They’re doing good things for our state and I wish them the best of luck.”
South Carolina is among the teams believed to be under serious consideration by Williamson, who’s listed by the 247Sports composite rankings as the No. 2 overall prospect in the Class of 2018.
Clemson, Duke, North Carolina and Kansas are just a few of the suitors vying for his commitment, which will be announced after his senior season at Spartanburg (S.C.) Day School.
In the meantime, he’s going to keep pulling for his home state.
“It’s amazing, because people sleep on South Carolina, as a basketball state as a whole, so glad to see a team from South Carolina make it to the Final Four,” Williamson said.
