The SEC entered Week 3 with eight teams in the Top 25 of the Amway Coaches Poll, and it finished with the same amount.
Seven of those programs won on Saturday, making that a somewhat easy decision. The lone loss came from Ole Miss, which was paired against No. 1-ranked Alabama in an epic showdown in Oxford. The Crimson Tide won 48-43, breaking a two-year drought against the Rebels. In spite of a 1-2 record, Ole Miss remains in the poll at No. 21.
Georgia survived a scare at Mizzou on Saturday night, escaping with a 28-27 victory. The Bulldogs moved to No. 11 in the new rankings, which is the second-best SEC showing. Tennessee, which defeated Ohio, and Texas A&M, which won a road game against Auburn, follow closely at No. 12 and No. 13.
Arkansas continued its climb in the polls, moving from No. 24 to No. 18 following a 42-3 win against Texas State. The Razorbacks settled in behind Florida at No. 16 and LSU (2-1) at No. 17.
