Tyler Byrd is set to announce his college decision.
The four-star prospect from Naples (Fla.) High School told SEC Country that he will announce which school he will choose on Tuesday evening, although he’s not sure of the time. Byrd said he’ll make the announcement via Twitter and is only considering Tennessee and Miami.
The 6-foot, 194-pound prospect took an official visit to Tennessee last weekend but has been committed to Miami since February, 2015. Byrd’s primary recruiter at Miami was current Tennessee tight ends coach Larry Scott, who was hired from the Hurricanes by the Vols in early January.
The Vols have a strong tie to Byrd. His teammate, running back Carlin Fils-aime, has been committed to Tennessee since July. Byrd, who could play receiver or cornerback, is rated the No. 10 cornerback in the nation and the No. 15 overall prospect in Florida.
