Former Tennessee linebacker Al Wilson gave first-year coach Jeremy Pruitt a ringing endorsement during a Big Orange Caravan event in Atlanta on Wednesday.
“I’m super excited for the way he’s trying to bring Tennessee football back and the direction in which he’s going,” Wilson said via a press release from the school. “He’s getting some good quality players to come in, and at the end of the day that’s what we want.”
Wilson, a former three-year starter, was a captain on Tennessee’s BCS Championship winning team and a consensus All-American in 1998, as well as a two-time first-team All-SEC nominee (1997-98).
Pruitt, who was hired in December, will make his regular season coaching debut against West Virginia in Charlotte, N.C. on Sept. 1.
